Erin Philleo

Erin Philleo received her Bachelor of Arts in Music with vocal emphasis from Miami University of Ohio, and her Master in Music Education in piano pedagogy from University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. She has run a successful private voice and piano studio in Wisconsin for 14 years. In 2012 she moved to Boynton Beach, Florida to partner with Jessica Valdez in the creation of a vocal school which teaches the Bel Canto method of singing. Erin has also taught voice classes at the Wausau Conservatory of Music, general music classes at St. Michael’s Catholic School in Wausau, WI, and has sung for various weddings, funerals, recitals, and community theater productions.

Past roles Erin has performed are Ariadne from Ariadne auf Naxos, Edith from Pirates of Penzance, Lucy (Beggar Woman) from Sweeney Todd, and Principessa from Suor Angelica. She has also sung roles such as Leonora from Il Trovatore, Mimi from La Boheme, The Countess from Marriage of Figaro, and Eva from Die Meistersinger in scenes.

Erin has sung with Palm Beach Opera and Florida Grand Opera choruses. In 2012 she debuted the role of Margot in the modern opera by Michael Ross, “Yours Truly, Anne”. Also in 2012 she was soprano soloist for Wisconsin Master Chorale in Handel’s “Messiah”, and in March 2013, she toured in Italy with St. Gregory the Great Parish Choir as soprano soloist. In 2014 she performed in Chicago with Tower Chorale as soloist in the Brahms Requiem.


Jessica Valdez

6331_1224279126257_8335280_nJessica Valdez is an emerging soprano from Boca Raton, FL. She has participated in many recitals and concerts in the South Florida area. Most recently she has been featured as a soloist in the Music Series at the Spanish Monastery in Miami. Her performance experience includes numerous opera productions with the Florida Grand Opera. Her pre-professional experience includes performances with New World School of the Arts College Opera Theatre Program under the direction of Joy Davidson and private voice study with Birgit Fioravante. She was accepted into the Aspen Music Festival Vocal Concert Studies program and was invited back the following season to participate in the Opera Theatre Workshop where she had the opportunity to work with such distinguished artists as Carlisle Floyd and John Harbison as well as participate in several recitals and performances.

Jessica has been teaching private voice in the Boca Raton area for over 4 years. Her students have successfully won competitions and have been accepted to Bak and Dreyfoos where they continue to study. Her students also have continued on to college and have received distinguished music scholarships. Jessica is Co-Director of the Valeo Opera Ensemble summer vocal program.
